Fluorite – The Blue John?

Hi folks! Check out your dose today. Having been studying Geology for such a long time, I never really talked much about it. I thought of giving it a shot. I know that these minerals are part of our lives! By that, I mean, you should know a bit about these wonderful minerals. I am interested to share some cool pictures of ‘Fluorite’. Check some of my favorites. You can find more from the wonderful search engines, like I did.

Known as CaF2 , fluorite or fluorspar is also referred to as Blue John sometimes, in Illinois. The above google images capture the breathtaking photos of the fluorite, crystallized in isometric system as octahedrons in some cases. I just cannot ignore them.
